One night. Let go. Be free.
Even at an early age, Reid Hunter’s future was already planned out. Though he was groomed to become successor of the family business, he quickly discovered his destiny wasn’t through his family’s legacy, but to build his own empire. His plan: takeover Vegas, one building at a time. Known as a hard, no-nonsense man, inside the boardroom and out, Reid isn’t prepared when he comes face to face with a woman from his past. The only one with the ability to make him question everything he stands for.
Raising a child is hard. Raising a child as a young, single mother is downright difficult. Yet Dani Whitley has managed to put herself through college, purchase her own home, and raise the unexpected, but greatly adored son she created while in college, after one night with a gorgeous stranger. Knowing nothing but his first name, Dani has managed to push all thought of Reid out of her mind until one day, nine years later, she is forced to face the man himself. Ruthless and callous, Reid Hunter is nothing like the young man she met at that music festival all those years ago. Yet Dani is still drawn to him, more than she was before.
Sin. Money. Success. Profits. That’s the foundation of Las Vegas. But what happens when one day you realize that it’s not enough? When the greatest thing you could profit is bigger and better than money: love.

Realizing
that we’ve stopped dancing, I pull her body firmly against mine. There’s no
mistaking the hard ridge between us now as it’s practically thumping against
us, begging to be released from my shorts. And fuck if I don’t want to release
it from its confines with this woman.
Dani’s
eyes darken into a deep navy blue as her pupils dilate. Her breathing comes out
in short pants that pepper the five o’clock shadow on my chin. I feel her hands
flex against my back, gripping at my shirt. It takes every ounce of control I
possess to not take her mouth in the fierce kiss I’m suddenly fantasizing
about. Her lips are parted and glisten with moisture as I imagine what it would
be like to claim them for the first time.
“Do
it,” she whispers just loud enough for me to hear.
“Do
what?” I ask hoarsely. Suddenly, my brain isn’t quite working properly; like
there’s some sort of short circuit. The only thing it can focus on is the woman
I’m holding in my arms.
“Kiss
me,” she says as if daring me. Well,
honey, it’s a challenge I’m more than willing to take.
When
my lips meet hers for the first time, something crazy happens. Fireworks.
Seriously, fucking fireworks burst in the night sky, drawing the attention
upward of everyone at the concert. Everyone but us. I zone in solely on her
lush lips and claim them for my own. There’s no hesitation in her kiss. Only
matching hunger and need. Dani’s tongue slides against my own, and I damn near
explode in my pants. I’ve never experienced anything like this kiss in my
entire life. It’s raw and hungry and teasing me in the best damn way possible,
as if to say “more is yet to come.”
I
nip at her full bottom lip before sucking it into my mouth and soothing the
sting with my tongue. Her moan is loud, but thankfully, everyone around us is
focused on the night sky. I feel my shirt being pulled out of my shorts moments
before Dani rakes her nails down the bare skin of my back. Fucking all things holy, does that feel amazing.
“I
made you a promise tonight,” I mumble, trying to clear the sexual fog from my
lusting brain. The problem is that my big brain isn’t doing any of the thinking
at this point; it’s all about the smaller one. Pulling back, away from her
fantastic body, is the hardest thing I’ve never done, but it’s necessary. The
only way I’m going to keep the promise I made is to distance our bodies right
this instant. A lot of distance.
“What
if I don’t want you to be a gentleman, Reid?” she whispers. I search her eyes,
looking for any sign of doubt or hesitation. But the only thing I see is
desire. Want. That same hunger I’m sure is evident in my own eyes.
“Are
you sure?” I ask her, giving her one more chance to back out. I’m not about to
force myself on anyone, especially Dani. I want her to trust me and know that I
would never do anything to harm her.
“I’ve
never been more sure of anything,” she answers with a smile. I lean forward and
place a gentle kiss on her lips, cementing my intent to take care of her
tonight. Sexually, yes, but also emotionally. Considering I’ve never thought about
taking care of another woman emotionally, that’s saying a lot for the woman I’m
holding in my arms.
