Review & Excerpt Tour for DESIRED by Kelly Elliott

I thought all I wanted in my life was to succeed at football and one day take over my grandfather’s ranch. Nothing else mattered but those two things.

Why suddenly did she appear every single night in my dreams? The faceless woman who had me waking up each morning soaked in sweat with my heart nearly pounding right out of my chest.

Who was she?

Where was she?

And why was she the one thing I desired more than anything?

The front door immediately opened, and four girls trickled out. I tried like hell to get a better look at them all.

“Stay here,” Jeff ordered us.

Once the door shut, Josh let out a laugh. “Is it just me, or does Jeff seem like he’s lost his damn mind?”

“Not just you,” Brad stated.

I watched as one of the girls moved closer to Jeff. Her brown hair was piled on top of her head, and her back was toward us.

“I can’t get a good look at her, damn it,” I whispered.

“Me either,” Brad stated.

Josh practically crawled into the front seat. “Do you think that’s the sister?”

Another girl walked up and got between Jeff and the girl who might be Ellie. It looked like she had brown hair as well. She looked pretty from what I could tell.

“Shoot me right now. That girl has a fucking hot body,” Josh said.

“You better hope that is a friend of the sister’s and not Ellie herself,” I said with a laugh. “But you’re right. She does have a nice body. So does the one with her back to us.”

I knew that was Ellie. I couldn’t explain how I knew; I simply did. My chest was pounding with the idea of her walking up to the truck and Jeff finally introducing her to us.

“Yeah, so does the blonde,” Brad added. “Can’t really see the other one; Jeff’s blocking her.”

“She has red hair, and trust me, she’s rocking a hot body as well and is pretty as fuck,” Josh stated as he leaned farther up into the front seat. “Why do I feel like I’ve seen her before?”

“Dude, why don’t you just fucking crawl up here already?” I snapped.

“Why didn’t girls look like this when we were in high school?” Brad asked with a sigh.

All three of us laughed as a porch light turned on, lighting it up for us to get a good look at all the girls.

The girl who had her back to us, who I was guessing was Ellie, turned and looked at the truck.

She was beautiful. My heart felt like it dropped to my stomach.

Josh gasped. The fucker actually gasped. “Holy. Shit. No wonder the bastard has been keeping her away from us. She is hot as hell.”

“That she is,” Brad agreed.

My eyes strained to take her all in. I could see her, could tell she was absolutely stunning, but I needed to see her better. Study her face so I could remember it.

Jeff pulled her into his arms and kissed her on the forehead. They took a few steps closer to the truck, and Jeff pointed. He leaned down and said something to her, making her look directly back at the truck again and smile.

My breath caught in my throat. She was stunning. I wondered what she looked like with the sun shining down on that pretty face of hers.

Ellie lifted her hand and waved toward us.

“I’m getting out!” Josh said, trying to scramble into the driver’s seat. I stopped him and pushed his ass back, forcing him to land next to Brad, who was laughing his head off.

I pointed to Josh. “Dude, he told us not to get out. Unless you want to get your ass beat, I suggest you stay in the truck.”

Crossing his arms, Josh looked away.

“Are you pouting?” Brad asked. “You’re freaking pouting. You pansy-ass!”

I couldn’t help but smile before turning back around and looking at Jeff and Ellie. As they moved a bit closer, Jeff stopped and turned to his sister. Her gaze went back to the truck, and it felt like I was having a déjà vu. A chill ran up and down my spine, and I couldn’t shake the feeling I’d seen Ellie somewhere else.

Kim's 5 Star Review

The author recommends that you read Wanted the first book in the Wanted series before reading this book

Gunner Mathews has had enough of dating random women and now he finds his dreams are filled with a faceless woman who keeps him up all night.  Jeff Johnson can’t seem to keep it together around his little sister Ellie’s best friend, Arianna but he can’t let himself give into what he truly wants.  Josh Hayes is starting to find one night stands boring but isn’t quite ready to give them up even after he met the one woman who has caught his attention.

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

Gunner may be a rancher at heart but he has the biggest heart of them all.  He is there for his friends when they need him and wouldn’t hurt a fly.  Lately he’s been having dreams of this mystery woman who needs his help but he can’t figure out who she is. All he does know is that she is keeping him up all night and he desperately wants to know who she is.  Just when he least expects it, she appears to him in real life. But who she is, is not who he expected and she is totally off limits.

From the moment Jeff met Arianna he felt that spark but with being three years older than her and Arianna being his little sister’s best friend, he is holding back.  The problem being is that he tries to hold back by pushing Arianna away which usually ends up with fighting.  Sometimes it’s done on purpose, other times it just happens.  Just when his sister needs him the most, he and Arianna are too busy pushing each other away.

Josh Hayes was starting to find the one night stands boring and not as challenging as they once were.  As much as he wants to find the one woman who will stop him for jumping from bed to bed, he isn’t sure he wants to give it up.  Being a true gentleman he was raised, one night when he came by a car at the side of the road he stopped to help them out. What he didn’t expect was the woman in the passenger seat.  She’s the one woman he can’t stop thinking about but he didn’t get her name and he doesn’t know where to find her.  The problem he keeps running into is that she shows up when he least expected.

The great thing about this book is to see what Gunner, Jeff and Josh were like before their books, Wanted, Saved and Faithful.  These all-American boys are so much more than what you think.  Yes, they are Alpha to the core but there is so much more to them and I found that I just couldn’t get enough of them.

When I first opened this book Kelly recommend to her readers to read the first book in the series, Wanted.  Unfortunately I haven’t read the book but it’s didn’t make reading this book any less addictive and now I’m reading Wanted as I wanted more of all three guys.  In Kelly’s true fashion, she had me addicted to the books within the first few pages and had me scooping up the eBooks in the series so I can get more of Gunner, Jeff and Josh.  The way these guys are as friends and how they are with their friend’s will have you crushing on them and wondering where were guys like this when I was younger? They are loyal and true friends who are always there for the other and have no problem making time for people like Gunner’s Grandparents. If you haven’t has a chance to read any of the Wanted series books than you don’t know what you’re missing.

18-year-old Ellie Johnson always believed she would never be loved or wanted by anyone. She focused all of her attention on her grades and getting into the University of Texas to start a new life away from her mother.

The last thing Ellie expected was to fall in love with Gunner Mathews, a starting linebacker for the University of Texas football team and not to mention, her brother's best friend.

Gunner only has two passions in life, football and his grandfather’s ranch, until he falls for his best friends little sister. He will stop at nothing to show Ellie how much he wants her, even if it means he has to move faster than she would like.

Gunner knows they are meant to be together forever, but Ellie keeps denying her feelings out of fear of being hurt again. Every time he gets close to winning her love, something pushes her away again. Will Ellie ever be able to let go of the past and let him into her heart, and will Gunner be patient enough to wait for her?

We stood there for a few moments, in the middle of a standoff. Not speaking or moving, until Serena couldnt stand it any longer.

What do you mean no? she asked, as if Id just said it. That is what youre doing here, right, selling your creations?

I nodded.

Yes, Im selling them, but I reserve the right to sell to who I want.

To whom, Serena said automatically, then when my eyes narrowed she muttered, Sorry, probably realizing the way to get what she did not include correcting my grammar. But, I dont understand. Why wont you let me buy it?

I sighed. Its not that I wanted to be a dick, but the river table was currently my favorite creation. Id spent a lot of time getting it exactly the way I wanted, and had an internal debate over keeping it for myself. When I decided to sell it, I knew the buyer had to be perfect.

And yes, Serena fuming with her perfect face and gorgeous hair that begged to be tugged between my fingers was perfect for most things but not for this.

His sweatpants from earlier were replaced by a pair of dark blue, deliciously fitting blue jeans and a snug grey, deep V-neck shirt. Jesus. The man was absolutely gorgeous. His shirt fit as if it were body paint, molding the muscles in his chest and shoulders. His pants encased his strong thighs, which slightly flexed as he turned in different angles to show me his outfit.

“Don’t drown yourself in drool, girl. I’m not too familiar with CPR,” he joked, his hazel eyes twinkling in amusement.

I blinked and focused my gaze on his smug expression. Even though I did think he looked damn good, he’d never know about it, the cocky bastard.

“Don’t flatter yourself,” I scoffed, plucking a few more grapes from the bag.

He chuckled. “Hey, I can read body language, baby. You got that ‘fuck me’ stare going on.”

“First, I’m not your baby. Second, as fucking if,” I said, bringing my eyes to the bag of grapes. I wouldn’t necessarily say I wanted him to fuck me, but…the thought wasn’t too far off.

“Seriously though, what do you think? Too casual for a bar? Not casual enough? Too tight looking?”

I snorted. “Oh, it’s tight enough.”

“So too tight?”

“Eh, it’s fine.”

“Fine?” He groaned. “Fine isn’t good enough. Now I need to go change.” He turned and headed toward his room.

“God, and I thought I was a diva,” I teased. He turned and looked at me, a slight frown settling on his full lips.

“What’s wrong with wanting to look good, Satan?”

“Nothing. I just didn’t take you to be the particular type,” I replied with a smirk.

“Well, I like to look good, especially when going to places for the first time.”

“Fair enough,” I replied. “Then it looks good, Mr. Diva.”

He grinned. “Like sexy good or ‘it’s fine’ good?” he asked, ignoring the nickname I gave him.

I rolled my eyes. “Don’t be so obvious in fishing for compliments.”

“Just a simple question.”

“Fine. Sexy good. Now go away.”

His grin turned into a full smile. “So you think I’m sexy then?”

I scowled. Of course he’d try to twist the meaning of my words. “Your outfit, yes. You? Still questionable.” Though it wasn’t questionable. We both knew he looked good, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction.

He tsked and shook his head. “You’re ice cold, A.”

“Glad we established that early,” I said and turned back to my grapes.

He smirked. “Anyway, not sure when I’ll be back, so do you have a house key or something I can use? I don’t want to wake you,” he said.

“Oh shit. I knew I forgot something,” I muttered mostly to myself. “You can borrow mine and I’ll get you one made tomorrow.”

“Sounds legit, Satan.”

“It’s Ashton.”

“You got it, Satan.”
