too. A series of mistakes, bad decisions
and betrayal has Camden on the run not only to protect himself but his family
too. Undercover agent Brooklyn (Brook) Avery
got herself assigned to Camden’s case as she tries to deal with the loss of her
sister. Her mission is dangerous but it
keeps her busy. When these two path’s
cross and sparks fly, will it be enough for both of them to stop running or
will their past finally catch up and they could end up losing it all.

Camden Jameson is a troubled fighter who only
knows one way to deal with his emotions.
He’s spent most of his life being jealous of his twin brother Ryley but
all he really wanted was to have was what he had, love and respect. In the past Camden didn’t go about it the
right way but now that his past is catching up with him and he wants nothing
more than to protect his family, he runs.
Knowing that he could probably never go back home Camden accepts his
fate, scars and all.
Brooklyn Avery lost her younger sister in a
terrible accident that left her scarred.
She’s done her best to come to terms with it, but her mom never lets her
or her older brother forget that her favorite child was the one lost. Brook has tried her best but dealing with her
parents is too much so taking on such a dangerous case seem like a walk in the
park. After spending time in the shadows
watching over Camden, she sees the change not only in him but her as well.
This is the fourth book of the Gloves Off series
and it just as awesome as the others!! Camden and Brook have a lot in common as
both are used to living in a sibling shadows. Both are scarred physically and
emotionally giving them common ground to start their friendship. Once they find each other they hit it off and
sparks fly. I love the chemistry between
Brook and Camden giving us a chance to see another side of Camden. He may be a hot headed, quick to react and a
jerk at times but he is a very sincere and caring person. He’s very protective of the people he cares
about but doesn’t see the good in himself.
Brook is happy with who she is but having Camden shower her with
kindness and understanding throws her off balance. Of course with Camden on the run life isn’t
so simple. The series of twists and
turns along with the roller coaster ride of trying to figure out who the mole
in the team is left me on the edge of my seat.
I couldn’t put the book down as I had to know if I was right on who the
mole was and if Camden and Brook would find out before it was too late.
I love Camden’s story but when I got to the end
and saw that Kyle’s Return would be the last book in the series, I was left
feeling sad and disappointed that I’d have to give up my fighters. I have fell
in love with all them but Camden is my favorite. If you haven’t read the Gloves Off series,
you don’t know what you’re missing. I
highly recommend you add it to your TRB list and put it at the top. L. P. Dover knows how to hook her reads leaving
them wanting more and this series it will do that and more!!
