Title: FAIR GAME
Author: Taylor M. Lunsford
Genre: Contemporary Romance
About Fair Game
In her designer shoes and power suits, Vivien Monroe couldn’t be
more out of place in the video game company she inherited from her eccentric
father. Not only does she have to sort out her father’s last request and deal
with a younger sister she barely knows, she has to go toe-to-toe with her
father’s protégé—a man who makes her think about the last thing she
should be thinking about right now.
With his thick-framed glasses and graphic tees, Liam Hale is the
exact opposite of what she needs right now. His relaxed, out-of-the-box
attitude reminds her too much of her father’s more exasperating quirks, but his
dedication and quiet stubbornness begin to drive her crazy in a completely
different way.
All Vivien wants is to get back to her life in New York, but
someone is stealing the company’s best game ideas, and an FBI agent is sniffing
around. She’ll save her father’s legacy for her sister and then she’s out of
there—if she can leave Liam behind.

Vivien
sat at her desk, staring at the spreadsheet the independent auditor she hired
had sent her a few hours ago. Try as she might, she couldn’t seem to
concentrate. She’d make it through a few rows and columns of numbers and then
her mind would skid back into the gutter it had been in since the gala. Every
day and night since the gala had been a constant battle to forget that kiss.
Sweet baby Jesus, that kiss.
In a purely Pavlovian response, her body grew warm and achy at only
the memory of it.
She’d brushed the first kiss off as a fluke, brought on by the
emotions from the attack, but now she wasn’t so sure. He might come off as
mild-mannered, but the man knew what to do with his lips. Those lips did insane
things to her just kissing her mouth; she could only imagine how they would
feel if they were on other parts of her.
And boy had she been imagining.
At first, it was only at night, in her dreams. After the first kiss,
it’d been periodic, whenever she was especially tired. Now, she woke up three
or four times a night, her body on fire and her panties soaked. That had been
hard enough to handle. Poor Josh spent a lot more time fetching her iced coffee
this week to help combat the fatigue.
The last few days it had gotten worse. Liam started to creep into
her daydreams as well—and she never
daydreamed. On more than a few occasions, she’d found herself in a meeting and
her mind would start drifting back to the steamy dreams that plagued her the
night before. Dreams of hands strong from use, a clever tongue, and wicked blue
eyes taunting her from behind those sexy nerd boy glasses.
Shifting in her chair, trying to ease the ache a little, she fought
the urge to scream in frustration. If she were in New York, she’d call up one
of her friends, and they’d go to the latest “it” club—on the VIP list, of
course—and she’d find a nice guy to take home to her bed for a night or two.
Here? No way she was going out without a wingwoman.
Maybe she should just stop and buy a vibrator on the way home and be
done with it. She was an independent woman, and she’d never been solely
dependent on a man for her personal satisfaction. Except that wouldn’t work
because of her stupid shadow. The last thing she needed was the entire security
team knowing she was horny enough to go to a sex toy shop. Besides, she somehow
doubted that her normal methods of relief would work when it came to the level
of desire Liam inspired.
Okay, she really needed to get her brain off sex.
Now.

About Taylor M Lunsford
From the time she figured out how to turn the Disney Read-Along cassette tape over in the dark, Taylor’s been addicted to reading—both authorized and unauthorized. By the time she was thirteen, she’d started writing Newsies fan fiction and reading romance novels late into the night. A champion multi-tasker, she’s been known to read, write, and watch TV all at the same time, especially if there’s a HEA ending involved. In addition to being a frequent stress baker, she’s spent the majority of her free time becoming fluent in most dialects of nerdiness, starting with musicals, and is mildly obsessed with all things British (especially the Royal Family and tennis champ Andy Murray). Growing up with a village of strong women as an example, she doesn’t miss an opportunity to weave in community engagement and feminism into each of her books in one way or another—her heroines are always sassy and smart and her heroes wouldn’t have them any other way.
