Excerpt
Her hand moved lightly across my back as she softly repeated
the one thing no one had told me I could do.
“Taylor, let it out. Just cry and let it out.”
My emotions were beginning to mix together. I wasn’t sure if
I was angry or sad. My throat and my chest ached. Looking at her, I shook my
head. “He promised me, Libby. He promised me!” I shouted.
Standing, I began to pace across the room. “He was my
everything and he’s gone. How am I supposed to go on? I can’t go on! Damn it, I
don’t want to go on without him.” Tears began to stream down my face as Libby
wiped hers away. “He’s gone and I feel so lost.” A sob escaped from my lips as
Libby stood up. Holding my hand up to stop her, I shook my head. “I don’t know
who to be angry with! If one more person tells me everything will be fine, I’m
going to punch them!”
“Grace. We can use Grace for that,” Libby said.
My eyes widened in surprise as I let Libby’s words sink in.
“I think Meagan would be the better choice. She used to steal my make-up all
the time.”
Libby cracked a small grin. “It’s okay to be angry.”
My lips trembled. “I don’t know what I am, Lib. All I know
is I feel so lost without him.”
Libby took me in her arms as we sank back to the bed.
I wasn’t sure how long Libby had stayed in Jase’s room with me.
We sat on his bed in silence as I stared out into the darkness.
Kim 4.5 Star Review
Life is finally just the way Taylor Atwood and Jase Morris wanted
as finally found their way to each other. But when outside forces try to ripe
them apart, Taylor and Jase have to find the strength they need to get through
the hard times. Will True Love and
family be stronger enough to hold them together after all this time?
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review and
yet again Kelly has wrote an incredible ending to three remarkable series!!
Taylor Atwood has known for a while that Jase is the one for
her. The problem is he has been giving
her mixed signals. Taylor is a smart
young decisive woman who knows what she wants and is determine to get it. Just when she thought they were on the same
page Jase pushes her away it again, leaving her heart broken. Working for her grandfather in his brokerage while
living in Austin, Texas was supposed to be her dream job but knowing that the
job is more than a new college graduate was qualified for isn’t lost on her. As determined as Taylor is she also know that
she’s in over her head. The fallout from
her broken heart has her thinking she needs to make some changes in her life
and that includes working on getting over Jase once and for all.
Jase Morris has known all his life that he wanted to work on
his family’s Cattle Ranch. Meeting Taylor in college has made him second guess
things in his life but the one thing he is sure of is that he’s not good enough
for the sweet innocent woman he has come to care about. He knows that the push-pull that he has been
doing to Taylor is wrong but he can’t help it.
He wants her more than anything but just when he thinks they can work it
out between them someone reminds him that she’ll never want the life he
wants. Jase knows that if you love
someone you should be able to set them free and see where it takes you. Little did he know when he did that it would
bring them right back to each other.
Taylor and Jase’s story is one that you feel so close to as
you’ve followed how their relationship has developed throughout the other books
in the series. The two have undeniable
chemistry. It’s not the explosive kind
but it’s so very intense that you feel like you’re a part of their
relationship. There were times when I
just wanted to yell at both of them as I wanted them to smarten up and work
things out or because they were setting themselves up to do something they
would regret. The one thing these two
have is true love. No matter how the
other may make a mistake the other is still there for to help out. I loved that Kelly showed her readers how
much these two characters have matured along their journey to each other. Things that would push them apart are now things
that show just how strong their relationship is. They learn to trust the other
and trust their own instincts. This is
what a truly great relationship is about, trust and loving and they have it in
spades which comes in handy when others try to tear them apart. Both Taylor and Jase have their strength as a
couple and love for each other tested no only by others around them but by life
itself.
This book wraps up three series at once and boy did I find
it hard to say goodbye to characters I’ve comes to know and fall in love
with. Kelly took on a difficult task of
ending three series with one book and did a wonderful job at it. One thing I’ve come to realize reading her
books is that no matter how much I prepare, she somehow always gets a deep emotional
response from me. If I’m not laughing at
what’s happening, I’m crying and wondering why she had to rip my heart out
AGAIN. Kelly is a truly gifted writer,
giving her readers the most amazing stories. She’s become one of my all-time
favorite authors and one I will all talk about and highly recommend!
