ABOUT IGNITED
He promised to take me
as far as I could go—and I wanted to go to the edge.
My whole life has been a cover, a con, a lie. I was born into the grift, raised on the thrill of playing someone I’m not. As a rule, I never let anyone get too close—until Cole August makes it impossible for me to stay away.
Cole is tough, sexy, and intensely loyal, yet his secrets are dark and his scars run deep. Not many women can handle his past, or the truth behind his fierce demands. But something about him beckons me—and our desire is a game I must play.
I know he’s dangerous, that even his touch is trouble, but what is passion without a little risk?

He was a mix
of hard lines and angles, of soft colors and tenderness. He was like some of
the art that hung in his gallery—a blend of so many elements that you’re
surprised you like it because it almost seems like too much. And yet it all
makes up the whole, and if you took any part away, the entire image would fall
apart.
“You’re
staring,” he said to me, his eyes narrow and mocking.
I grinned,
feeling foolishly giddy. “Maybe I like looking at you.”
“That makes
two of us,” he said. “Turn around.”
I did, and
he pulled me close again, spooning against me as we lay on the thick, warm rug.
He traced
his finger over my bare hip, then along my waist. The sensation made me
tremble, and I sighed as my body fired under his ministrations.
Kim's Review
Katrina Larson has moved around all her life. She spent her whole life in the grift as was her dad’s chosen profession and made a career out of it too. She has never put down roots and has never wanted to until she made her way to Chicago. Now that she has gotten close to Angie, Sloane and the 3 Knights (Evan Black, Tyler Sharp and Cole August), Kat has decided to put down roots and buy a house. The only thing that is missing now is Cole. No matter how hard she’s tried she can’t get him out of her head.
Cole August had a hard life growing up in the street of Chicago. He fell into the gangs at an early age, as he was the only male in the house, he had to take care of his Aunt and ill grandmother. Cole was a smart kid and got himself out and made a better life for his family. Cole never let anyone get to close but Evan Black and Tyler Sharp were the exception to the rule. Now that Evan is about to marry Angie and Tyler is settling down with Sloane he is the only single one left of the knights but this is the choice Cole has made for his life.
Kat attends the opening of the Art Galley owned by the knights with a mission. She wants Cole August to stop taking over her thoughts. Her way of solving this problem is to sleep with Cole and the opening is her perfect opportunity to do to get the ball rolling. Cole has done nothing but watch Kat from the first moment they met. He can’t get her out of his thoughts either but with his life he won’t let himself have what he wants. When Kat pushing him on the issue flames ignite and they both get more then what they bargained for.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved the Stark trilogy so I knew that J Kenner would not disappoint me with this series either. I loved Cole and Kat’s story, the excitement, romance and suspense in the book to kept me on my toes. There were points through the book where I could do nothing but keep reading on to see what was going to happen next. Cole has a dark past that keeps him closed off. The dominant side of him kept me wanting more. The way he knew how to give Kat everything she wanted had me falling in love with him. Kat is a smart, strong woman who can take care of herself but when she knew she was in over her head she was smart enough to go to the right people to help her out. Both characters hooked me in as they weren’t the kinds that were too needy but they were strong and knew how to play off each other’s strengths.
J. Kenner delivered another hit story in an awesome series and you don’t want to miss out on Cole and Kats story. I highly recommend Ignited to anyone who loves an alpha male story. A five star read!!
