Kenna is a pretty typical single mom. She takes her 5 kids to dance, soccer, and scouts. She just happens to make her living as an erotic book blogger. She has accepted the fact that she will probably always be single, until her dream fantasy man is sitting right in front of her.
Jax likes control. He's never considered love or romance as an option, just as a necessary means to win a woman he's interested in. So when he eyes a beautiful woman at a coffee shop and can't stop thinking about her, he wonders what he has to do to possess her.
This is the hilarious story of two people who in a world of dreams are made for each other, but in reality could not be more incompatible. Will they find a way to make the dreams that live in their fantasies real, or are they destined to live without each other?
Author's Note:
The Daydreaming novella series takes place in the same world as the Faultlines series and while there are many crossover elements, it is not the same story or direct sequel. While readers of that series will enjoy seeing characters in this series, you do not need to read one to read the other because it is not a direct sequel. This series is more erotic in nature, with lots of sexual situations, as well as a rather colorful choice of the English language (read- there's a lot of swearing), so please note that this book is for mature audiences.

I paced around my living room staring at my
laptop that sat on my coffee table as if it was a suspect that I was about the
interrogate.
Not that I was a cop. That would be far too
honorable.
No, I was a banking executive.
Anyways, back to the damn laptop.
I wanted to google her. Badly.
And the fact that I wanted to research her
so badly made for quite the dilemma.
She has five children. FIVE.
One, two, three, four, FIVE.
That shit was not normal. And she looked
young. What, has she spent her 20’s popping out babies?
No husband, no boyfriend…what’s up with
that?
Just
google her already, you pussy.
Damnit.
I walked around to the black leather couch
and sat down in front of the laptop.
My condo was a pretty typical bachelor pad.
I lived in a converted warehouse loft in the Tobacco Row district of Richmond.
Exposed brick, exposed HVAC, concrete floors, lots of black, glass, and
stainless steel. It was cold and modern and I loved it.
I opened it up and googled her name. I saw
a Facebook account and opened it. Her profile was private but her profile
picture was her, and 5 boys, sitting around a picnic table and smiling at the
camera.
What
the hell?
These weren’t five babies. They all
appeared to be older. The oldest looked like an older teen, the youngest no
younger than 10.
Either she aged very well or those were not
biologically her kids.
I went back to the search results and
clicked on a news link where her name was mentioned.
Kenna Pierce is being honored tonight as foster parent
of the year.
The date was a year earlier.
I clicked on another (more recent) news
article to read.
Amy Green, who fostered more than 50 children and
adopted 6 and is currently a court appointed advocate for abused children,
organized this fundraiser with Kenna Pierce, another Richmond native who
adopted her five boys through the foster care system.
Okay, so she adopted her sons. She
organizes fundraisers and gets awarded for her good community service.
Basically, she’s a good girl.
Shit.
Hey, nothing wrong with being a good girl.
I thought it was awesome, but not for the dirty things I wanted to do.
Imagining her bent over my table while I
stood behind her grinding into her….
Stop
that, you bastard.
Damn.
I was about to call it done before I
scrolled down to see a blog that she was associated with.
I clicked on it.
My eyes widened.
So this was what she was typing at her
computer every day.
The title of the blog was “Kenna’s Kinks”
and was a book review blog for every type of smut, mommy-porn, dirty book you
could imagine.
I smirked as I went down the ones she had
tagged as favorites. All featuring alpha males and dominating sexual
situations.
I felt like I had hit the jackpot.
I read a line one of her recent reviews:
They played this game of cat and mouse throughout half
the book, but eventually I think it’s what led them to the most intense sexual
experience of their lives. All I’m saying, ladies, is that we all know we like
to be pursued. Even the strongest and most independent, deep down, we want to
feel like the mouse. Vulnerable, exposed, and waiting on Mr. Pussycat to sink
his teeth right in.
Did she now?
Meow,
meow.
Game on.
Kim's 4 Star Review
Kenna Pierce isn’t your typical single mom. She has five boys whom she loves dearly but
she makes her living by being an erotic book blogger. Too bad the only romance she’s been getting
lately are from the books on her blog. Just when she least expects it she bumps into
Jaxson (Jax) Dowe. He’s a man who loves
control, especially in the bedroom but he has met his match when it comes to
Kenna. Has Jax finally found met the one
woman who doesn’t give into his charm or will Kenna’s life be just too much for
him?-
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kenna isn’t like most twenty-seven year old women. She has five rowdy boys whom she brought into
her house because of the big heart she has.
Not many women would take these five boys from the foster system and adopt
them but Kenna has done that and much more for them. On top of that her job isn’t
conventional and not one most would have.
Jax is your typical single rich alpha male. He’s good looking and knows it so when he
sees Kenna, he doesn’t think of anything it when it comes to pursuing her.
This is the first book in the daydreaming Series by Claire
and she has started the series off with a bang.
Kenna’s life and her character is so different from most books and takes
on things an area of the real world that isn’t written about in this way very
often. Her job is nothing like most
would have but man would I love to be paid to read, blog and get paid for it. Talk about being envious of a character in a
book. But all that set aside Kenna’s
does well at balancing her job and family as we all know it isn’t easy being a
single mom. Like most mom’s she doesn’t
put herself first so her love life is none existence until the day Jax walks
into the coffee shop she is working from, for the day.
You’ve got to give Jax credit for his strength and courage
he has after he first met Kenna and asked her out. He knows that she’s not like the women he
usually dates but they been boring him lately.
Just when he thought he breaks through and gets the date he asked for he
finds out that Kenna not only has a child but five boys ranging from the ages
of ten to seventeen.
This isn’t your usually contemporary romance novel, Kenna
and her boys keep you entertained with their quirks and how they act around Jax
when he shows up to the house. The
things they come up with had me laughing and Kenna is no slouch herself either. I loved that she may be a mom but a mom with
needs and to get her side of that life was refreshing. As I said this is the start of the series and
Claire end this book off in just the right spot to leaving you wanting
more. I look forward to reading Kenna’s
Musings when it comes out.
