before in his but she was more than that to him. He wanted to set her
free and see he bloom. Cam may have been shy but getting to know him as a
friend and then more while getting her life back was everything she
wanted. Will her past come back and ruin everything or will she be able
to have the life she wants with Ledger?

(Cam) Foster has spent the past two years under Garrett Master’s thumb. She
didn’t see what he had done to her until it was too late. He made her
feel trapped with no way out. Frustrated and wanting more, Cam took the
steps she needed, stood up to Garrett and left him. Cam is a sweet,
fun loving kind of girl who has feelings for the wrong guy. Her
strong independent side comes out when she leaves him and everything she had
behind to get her life back. Cam is lucky that her best friend Shelby
always stood by her and was willing to help her out until she got back on her
feet.
Ledger
Emerson walked away from a life his parents had planned out for him to be
himself. He knows what it takes to give up that kind of life. When
he met Cam he knew she was it for him, the one he’d been looking for but he
also saw himself in her eyes. She was in the position he was many years
ago and got out of. He wanted to be the one to set her free and show her
all life had to offer but he also had a dark side to himself. Ledger is
the dominant alpha male you expected him to be but not a dominating man.
He was somehow able to balance his need to be in charge with the ability to set
Cam free.
This is the
first book by Kemmie Michaels I’ve read and I loved it. Ledger isn’t like
most alpha male characters I’ve read. His selfless, caring side comes out
often but his need to protect and cherish Cam is never far away. I’d say
he’s the perfect balance of everything I want in a man. Cam is no push over and
how she ended up in the situation she was in with Garrett is very real and
happens far too often. I was proud of her when she stuck to her guns and
walked away from him with only the clothes on her back. That takes guts
and a whole lot of self-esteem which is hard to have some times.
The
chemistry and passion between Ledger and Cam is amazingly hot and left me
wanting more. Just when you think these two are starting to get to a good
place Cam’s past comes back as she scared to end up in another bad
relationship. Shelby does a lot to protect her from Garrett but when it
get to be too much she finally tells her that Garrett wants her back. The
twists and turns in this story not only with Garrett but their friends to kept
me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Just when I thought I had things
figured out, Kemmie change it up on me again. The side story with Mason
and Shelby is a great set up for the next book in the series and I look forward
to seeing what’s in store for Mason.

Romance Novelist...
I've always loved to write. I've written for newspapers and magazines, also a host of personal projects. Then in December of 2012 I was reading on my first Kindle, gobbling up romances left and right. That's when I fell in love with Raine Miller's Ethan Blackstone, by the way.
I was inspired to sit down and write. Three years later, I've published eight books, written another, and started on two more. Another series popped into my head, as well.
