Selene Warren has it rough. After her mom passes when she's little, she gets stuck with her aunt (a crack-whore.) Life with Selene’s aunt lacks any type of love or support. Selene constantly struggles and when she turns fifteen her aunt is diagnosed with H.I.V. It soon becomes apparent that her aunt expects her to take over the family business and Selene runs for dear life.
She manages pretty well for a couple years. One day she saves a scruffy looking kid from a window. Before she knows it she adopts a stray of her own. Life seems a bit better until Selene gets stabbed trying to protect the kid.
Selene makes it, but discovers the kid is no normal runaway--he's the only son of a VERY rich and prominent family. A new friend comes forward to clear Selene of possible kidnapping charges, but for the life of her Selene can't figure out why the hell a rich kid would rather live on the streets than on a ritzy estate.

The second book in the Second Chance series by Caisey Quinn has a cover! 

While the series is made up of standalone novels featuring different couples, it does center around a location: The Second Chance Ranch, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility owned by Trace Corbin and Gretchen Gibson from the Kylie Ryans series. Here's what Caisey had to say about the series! 

Caisey: I really love writing this series because with each new novel I get a new story to build around the ranch. The overlap between characters in each book is a lot of fun for me, even though readers don't always catch them. It's almost like a hidden treasure. For instance, Fate's mom appears briefly in Van's story (Last Second Chance), but as the books are released approximately 3-4 months apart, not everyone remembers those details. It's such a treat for me knowing that they're in there! 

Readers have asked if they will see Trace and Kylie in this series and they will! Trace will pop in from time to time and then towards the end of the series they'll both attend a celebratory dinner at the Ranch.

While Last Second Chance was pretty hot, with tortured soul musician Van Ransom, Falling for Fate is a bit on the sweeter side. Though y'all know me, there will still be plenty of steam! Dean and Fate have a chance encounter and then meet again unexpectedly. While they're both young professionals, having very different relationship backgrounds and experiences leaves them a bit out of their league when it comes to one another. 

I am so in love with this cover because my characters meet on the beach and I asked the designer (Regina Wamba of Mae I Design) to give it an ocean water feel. She did such a wonderful job! I hope y'all like it as much as I do!

While summer is the third story to come out of the Blackrock Series, it takes place before Scarred Hearts (Blackrock Series book 1).The story takes the reader back and forth between the present and past through a series of flashbacks and explains the actions that lead up to what happens to Summer.

As the story begins Summer, once a beautiful fun loving 19 year old girl is now sinking into depression as she struggles through the aftermath of a vicious cyber bullying attack. Shutting out her parents and her best friends Bailey and Roger, Summer suffers alone as she recalls her and Ben's relationship.

Summer is searching for love, enter the hot new guy at school Ben and his mean spirited sister Emily. After a causal hook up at Brad's (Bailey's boyfriend) halloween party, Summer and Ben begin dating.  In the beginning everything is  great, but then  Ben starts showing signs of being controlling and abusive, telling her where she can go and with whom. When her friends and family start voicing their concerns,  Summer starts pulling away from them. Meanwhile Emily is busy trash talking Summer and Bailey all over her blog.

Feeling pressured by Ben to give up her virginity, Summer decides to give in to his demands not realizing it's going to cost her way more than she could even imagine. 

I was given a copy of this novella in exchange for a honest review.  First off I would like to strongly recommend reading Scarred Hearts, and Taking Chances before reading Summer to feel the full effect of Summers actions.   As well this is not a feel good book, it will rip your heart out and stomp all over it. 

This novella was beautifully written, speaking as someone who has suffered cyber bullying first hand I am amazed at how well Elizabeth captures the motions someone goes through when they are being bullied.   

The tears, self loathing, and  inability to just walk away from the situation. This book tore me apart and left me hating Ben even more than I already did! I'm giving this book 4.5 stars, while I love this book I can't honestly say I liked as much as Elizabeth other 2 novels. I would highly recommend this novella to my friends and other fellow readers.

“Enough is enough,” I chant in my head as I walk across the lawn towards the sound.

   As I’m walking along, I notice the extension cable that leads to just the plug I’m after. I head over, ignoring the stares from the men around me. The women just give me curious looks as I storm past them, thinking of expletive words to shout at them. Sending a glare their way, I keep my head held high not giving a shit what they’re all thinking as I make my way towards the stereo. I unplug the plug as a round of ‘what the fuck’, ‘who turned the music off,’ and ‘what the fuck is she doing,’ comes from everyone around me. It doesn’t halt me from what I’m about to do.

   I’m just about to snip the little bugger when a male husky voice comes from behind me. Every single hair on the back of my neck stands on edge. Every nerve ending in my body is hyper aware and the hair on the back of my neck stands on edge as my skin breaks out in goosebumps.

     ‘‘I wouldn’t do that if I were you kitten,’’ he warns.

Snapping my head around, I freeze when I lay my eyes upon the most incredibly ripped man I’ve ever seen in my life. Seriously, holy shit, give me a bucket of cold water now because I need cooling down. My skin feels like its on fire as I take in the perfection before me. His dark hair is short but still long enough to run my fingers through it. It’s scruffy and wild, giving him this rough edge look to his physique; I like it. His skin looks as soft as a baby’s bottom, giving me the urge to reach out and stroke it to see if it’s as soft as it looks. “His skin is flawless” as my sister would say if she were here. His eyes are a deep, dark brown colour with long black eyelashes, captivating me with his intense stare. Time has stopped all around me as my feet stay rooted to the spot while I keep looking over at his magnificent features. He has a five o’clock shadow on his strong jaw, which helps go with the bad boy look he has going on. What has me gawking though is that he’s shirtless, only wearing a pair of low hung baggy black shorts. His hard chest is glistening with sweat and I watch, fascinated, when I see a trickle of sweat drip down his chest, over the ridged muscle of his stomach, making me want to taste it with my tongue.

Holy fuck! Did I really just picture that?

It’s not like I can help it either; the bloke is packing some serious muscle. I swear I can feel drool foaming from my mouth.

      ‘‘Like something you see kitten?’’ he drawls, looking at me amused.

I snap out of my lustful daze, trying to ignore my flaming red face.

       ‘‘How about you put down the scissors,’’ he demands, making me shiver from the demanding tone in his voice.

Caitlyn is a young beautiful lost woman who was dealt a crappy hand but does everything she can to protect the one person who means the most to her, her daughter Carrie. Carrie is the cutest little girl you could ever met and she’ll have you wrapped around her little finger the moment you meet her. 

The quiet peaceful resort Caitlyn works at gets turned upside down when Cage Carter’s biker club stops in. The first night there, this group keeps Caitlyn up until the wee hours of the morning, ruining any chance of sleep for Caitlyn. Taking matters into her own hand Caitlyn running right into the rock hard body of Cage the badass biker. Cage doesn’t stand a chance when he runs into the mother/daughter pair at the resort. Cage is a man who doesn’t do relationships and Caitlyn is afraid to let anyone one in and will do anything to protect Carrie from their past. Cage changes everything with just one touch.

This book had me hooked as soon as I was introduced to the adorable 4 year old Carrie who you can’t help but fall in love with. Of course then there is Cage the bad boy biker with a rock hard body with a big heart that he doesn’t know he has. He’s the perfect mix of bad boy biker and alpha male to make any women fall for him. I feel for Caitlyn as she has no one left to turn to and can only do what she feels is right for Carrie and her. I can only image with its like to have to trust a person you only known for a few days.

Better Left Forgotten start out as a really great romance story that keep my heart racing but then add in the suspense of Caitlyn’s past to it and I wasn’t able to put the book down. I needed to know what was going to happen next and how Cage fit into all this. The adorable Carrie kept things light when the story started to get to the point where my anxiety was peeking. It was so easy to connect with every character in this book.

Lisa Helen Gray wrote an amazing romantic suspense novel that kept me wanting more. She is truly a gifted writer and I look forward to the next two books in this series.

The story takes readers into the lives of a young mother named Caitlyn and her adorable four year old daughter Carrie. On the run from her sister's crazed ex husband, Caitlyn will stop at nothing to protect Carrie, even at the stake of her own happiness.


Enter totally swoon worthy bad boy biker Cage and his band of misfit friends, hired on at Harbour Cabins (Caitlyn's residence and workplace)to help with some renovations.

After a humorous first encounter involving scissors and some serious sexual tension, Cage starts breaking down Caitlyn's protective barrier until she has no choice but to give into her desire for him.

When threats start arriving, Caitlyn is left with a choice does she grab Carrie and run leaving any chance at happiness behind. or trust in Cage and her new friends promises to protect her knowing she's putting everyone's lives at risk.


I was given a ARC of Better Left Forgotten in exchange for a honest review.

I don't know if I can even put into words how much I loved this book! From the first page I was totally engrossed, I laughed, I cried, I may have even thrown my ereader. This book was PHENOMENAL! The story moved along effortlessly, with a strong story line and characters you can't help but fall in love with. This is the type of work you would expect from a much more experience writer and just shows that Lisa has a promising future in this industry. Definitely a must read for every book lover!
